Aaron took the kids down to this field that borders our neighborhood.  The wind was too strong and the kids too uncooperative to get a perfect picture.  This is as good as it gets...

Happy Birthday, Madelyn!

Friday Madelyn celebrated her 6th birthday.  She couldn't have possibly been more excited!  She has been counting down the days for a couple of weeks.  We had a low key party for her at our house with just our family, her friend Kaylie, and Adam and Sarah who are almost family.

Aaron made Madelyn this Barbie house for her birthday.  Problem is, he didn't start it until Monday so I didn't have time to get it decorated.  I promise there will be another post on that soon.  She and Naomi have already had fun playing with it.

This little girl lights up the room with her smile and is so full of life.  She is very outgoing and has thrived in kindergarten this year.  We are so grateful she is part of our family!

NASCAR race

A few weeks ago there was a big NASCAR race in Bristol.  We were able to get tickets to the race for $10 through the Boy Scouts of America so we thought we'd introduce our kids to a little local culture.  Aaron and our neighbor took over a car full of boys.  

The race was on Saturday so it wasn't the professional series, but we're amateurs so we didn't really care.

I stayed home with the girls (actually went to the mall with the girls :)).  Aaron said it was so loud, we knew they wouldn't have lasted very long.

Here's a tip we learned:  you don't really want to sit too close to the track at a car race.  Even with this fence, there were actually little pieces of rubber from the tires that came through the fence and hit Aaron and the boys.
