Elizabeth's {Tie Dye} Birthday

Elizabeth turned 14 last week.  She is so responsible - she planned her own birthday party and I hardly had to do anything.
We bought t-shirts for all of the girls and Elizabeth found a blog with instructions for tie dying.  It was pretty easy to do.  First, they rolled the t-shirts up into a circle and put rubber bands on them.
They used these spray bottles with an acrylic paint/water mixture in them to spray the t-shirts.  You spray around each rubber band with a different color.

Here are the finished tie dye t-shirts.  The girls are all in Washington, D.C. this week for school and plan to wear them one day.
Elizabeth made these cute tie dye sugar cookies and decorated them for the girls to take home.
She requested an oreo cheesecake for her birthday cake.  I made it gluten free for one of her friends who is celiac.  It turned out pretty yummy!

This has been a pretty big year for Elizabeth.  She will graduate from middle school next week and begin high school in the fall.  She has gone from my shy little girl who has always said she's never moving out of our house to this beautiful daughter who couldn't wait to spend a week in D.C. with her friends.  This past year she got her braces off, has become a great babysitter for many of our friends, tried every scent at Bath and Body Works, earned straight A's, and continues to be teacher's pet in every class!  Just don't ask her where anything is because she has a terrible sense of direction!
